1 bottom end brg clearance ? i told at bdc, he asked y not at tdc, i told difficult for access but not satisfied
2 centrifugal p/p parts ? i told all, he den asked abt lantern ring y fitted ? wer exactly fitted & its purpose & from wer does it get cooalnt ? i told fitted on shaft for shaft cooling , i myself was not able to answer dis question satisfactorily since he went deep into it,
3 how wil u start ballast p/p ? i told check load on gen, den line up & start up. first i told without closing discharge v/v we start, den he interrupted & asked wont u close discharge v/v ? den i told yes sir we close it before starting,den he asked y we close, i told for reducing starting current in motor, but he told in some ships ballast p/p is started from cargo ctrl room, so wat happens in dat case ? wont d starting current rise in dat case ?? i told deywil inform us sir & we used to line up, but got stuck here.
4 how will u take tappet clearance ? i told bring piston to TDC, chck with flywheel mark, loose pushrod, cam position. he asked in flywheel showing two piston at TDC so now u take clearance side by side in both d cylinders ? i told we take in one cylinder only with loose pushrod, he asked watabt d other cylinder at TDC ??
